So i bought the software despite being disappointed by the pogovideo.  Now my hard drive will not stop spinning.  I assume that it is compiling previews of the videos that are on teh hd but i have no way of knowing.  Is pogo using ffmpeg to do this conversion?  The good things about things that "just work" is that you dont have to set them up.  the bad thing is that you have no idea what is going on.

Hello,

It does use ffmpeg, however you won't see it in task-manager. It is started as a thread of hbplug.exe, so you'll need "Process Explorer" to see into hbplug.exe and you'll see it when ffmpeg is running.

The drive is busy because it is processing all the files you've added to the "RemoteAccess". Things like thumbnails, metadata of music are being indexed.

Thanks,

The only limit to the Pogoplug is your imagination... and C skills... and linux skills. ^_^ h\t\tp://download.pogoplug.com/opensource/pogoplug-gcc.tar.bz2

I use my Windows 7 PC every day. Why is it that HBPLUG.exe burns up 20%+ of my cpu for 10 or more minutes every time I boot? I'm not adding files every day. This is a real pain.

Thanks for your assistance on this.
