Hi,

Why you have removed previous Linux downloads:

http://www.pogoplug.com/downloads.html

Now, there is only 32bit version of pogoplugfs. Remember that when we're talking about Linux most of them are now 64bit.

You didn't write also version of it. This is old version or there is something new?

Hello,

Is there a reason you need a 64bit version of pogoplugfs? The 32bit version should work fine, as far as I know.

Some of us like our 64 bit system to stay 64 bit. Why have a 64 bit system if everything you put on it is 32 bit.
But you are right, it works fine, after you load in the 32 bit fuse libraries.

To answer adek's second question, the linux version that is up there (as of a few minutes ago) is still the old version.

# ./pogoplugfs --ver
1.0.0.6

I did a diff against the old version as well, just incase they forgot to change the version number. The old and the new are the same.

I see.

Okay, I'll ask around to see if we can get the 64bit pogoplugfs put up there and if there's any newer version around here.

Agh! Just bought Pogoplug and find the 64 bit driver gone. Can anyone point me to somewhere that shows how to install 32 bit fuse, or does anyone have the 64 bit driver kicking around?

Thanks

Keith

Yes. Like I wrote in my first post. I asked the same question but 32-bit should work on your 64bit system. Of course this is strange because 32bit in Linux world is dying (and not only in Linux world).

Hmm... http://www.google.com/#q=should+i+switch+to+64+bit+linux&bav=on.2,or.r_gc...

While 64bit is the future, I wouldn't say 32bit is dying just yet. Soon perhaps, but not yet. ;)

The engineers gotta see if they still have(or re-create) a 64bit-Ubuntu around with the compile environment to make & post a 64bit pogoplugfs binary online.

I *hope* it shows up in the next week or so.

Sorry but in your example, first google search is forum from 08-30-2006. Maybe this only my experience, from my playground, but I know users using only 64bit distributions. I know some Linux developers already thinking about leaving 32bit branches of their distrubition.

Today's processors are made for 64 architecture. 32bit is some kind of limitation. I'm not using 32bit processors since a good few years.

We've got the same situation with Windows.

http://www.blankmanblog.com/uncategorized/comparison-of-32-bit-and-64-bit-mem...

Of course, if you are using netbook - you are probably using 32bit system with <=4gb ram. And that's OK.

At the moment I'm using 64bit version of pogoplugfs (from your previous site). I know 32bit is also working on my distro without any problems.

I think you could only put some information on your site. Maybe you can change this information:

Requires i686 32-bit.

to

Requires i686 32/64 bit.

@adek
Windows?! Bah humbug! Just kidding.

I've just ask about it again, so I hope to have something to say about 64bit pogoplugfs for Linux in the next 7'ish business days.

NINJA EDIT:

Actually, good news... you will get that build back soon. That's what I've been told. Just keep checking the download section.

I could not find this either, really bummed out about that.

This from CNet works: http://download.cnet.com/Pogoplug-Drive-for-Linux-64-bit/3000-18500_4-7544603...

I figured it was safe enough since the PC and Mac versions are found there.

The cnet link isn't working for me and it's not clear that the 32 bit linux works on Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit. Can anyone comfirm pogo 32 bit for linux works on 64 bit?

September 14, 2011 8:18 AM

I just went from 32 bit to 64 bit, and now pogo 32 bits returns the following error:

~/pogoplugfs$ ./pogoplugfs: error while loading shared libraries: libfuse.so.2: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

This is one reason why I like mach-o: multiple architectures can exist in one file.

Is there any plans on releasing the 64-bit version any time soon? Or even better, a Debian package?

Get out of my mind, idea! I already have an idea in there!

Now all Linux versions are gone. What's going on? I'm using version downloaded months age and everything is working great (64bit version).

Yeah  ... wow. I wonder what is going on. I have both and would host them if I am allowed too. Also, odd there is no discussion on this thread from CloudEngines about it.

I understand, support for Linux was dropped but please, please. Give more advanced user possibility to use pogoplugfs. I understand there is no client with GUI. But please, please give as back the latest versions of pogoplugfs. You could link it here or create closed sticky thread with information. More advanced users will be greatful.

I'm using pogoplugfs at work/home and it's working great!

Hello all,

The the linux binaries will return shortly.

Hello!
And what about proper Slackware or even Red Hat or SuSe support? Especially since out of all of them Slackware happens to be the oldest distribution out?

The extremely obvious question is one of, "What distribution was involved in the creation of the firmware on the plug?"

Hello!

What did you do on your system(s) to get the pogoplugfs to work properly? When I try the application on my Slackware-13.37 system, which is a 32 bit system I get a complaint via the log file that the self signed certificate that the system is shown is not accepted and thus nothing gets mounted.

--------

And when I wrote that I was working from memory regarding pogoplusfs. Now as I described in a different thread in the same area on Linux and the plug, it works properly. Something was indeed fixed....
