Hey Gerardo,
It sounds to me like the problem is with her router or modem (but probably the router). Has she tried unplugging both of those? If not, have her unplug both of them and leave them unplugged for about a minute or 2. Then plug the modem back in and let that boot up for a minute or 2. Once that's done, ensure the Pogoplug is plugged into the router, then power up the router.
Im in Spain right now, i have my own pogoplug...
I gave a PP Pro to my GF who lives in London, so every help i could give her has to be by skype..
the problem is this...
She has atached the Pro to the modem directly with the network cable to the router
she has unselected to convert the movies in order to be streamed in webbrowser and all those things...
But the main problem is when at home when she go directly through the pogoplug mounted drive in her desktop to watch a normal movie of 700 mgs. the movie takes a lot to load in VLC, then plays and stops, plays and stops.
I mean, at least what i know is that if u try to go to watch a movie in the normal way like if it were a normal disk mounted there shouldnt be any problem at all..
She has a macbook air 2010 model 11" 1.6 Ghz 4 gigas of Ram. Mac OS Snow Leopard everything updated.
She had the beta version of the pogoplug, but tonight in order to find out the problem she uninstalled the drive, unregister the pogo, unplugged the disk, verified and repaired disk,,i mean, we tried to start from zero.
She registered again the Pogo, installed now the 2.5.5 drive in her mac. but the problem continues.
She is in London, her internet provider is O2 UK. and well,,i forgot to ask her but im pretty sure she has a thompson modem who o2 calls "O2 wireless box II" that i guess is just a/b/g but not n. and what found on internet is that the real name is Thompson SpeedTouch TG585v with a broadcom chipset ADLS
she copied the movie (700 mg) to her desktop and took aproximatelly 14 minutes. (in my pogo is taking like 10 minutes).. the light in the pogo is green...she says everything loads ok, so i dont exactly know if the pogo is not working in LAN mode, cuz if that were the case, then a file like that would take like one hour to copy...
what could it be? i thought probably were that the modem is slow...but if that were the case, then just would take more to start to play, but once it starts it shouldnt be failing. is it?
is not the VLC or the computer, cuz the movie once is in copied in the computer, it plays smoothly and without problems.
I would really apreciate if someone can help me, im super sad cuz is not the same when u give this as a present in order to make an esier life to someone that doesnt know anything about computers..even less about personal cloud storage.
thank you very much.
Gerardo
