The BIZ product is supposed to allow us to brand the user interface with our own, not Pogo's content, logos and verbiage.  But it looks to me like there is a lot of POGO stuff at the bottom of the webpage that users log in to, such as:

Languages, Support, Cloud Engines and Pogoplug Community links at the bottom.  How do we eliminate that stuff, and , alternatively, replace it with our own description and links?

I made this same request (among others) in another thread. No word back yet though...

April 12, 2011 4:03 PM

They've added this to the Feature Request List... it's not a feature request, it's that the Biz product no longer is a Biz product. I've shut it down 2 days before going live... I can't have my end users going to POGO for Help... this is NUTS!

April 12, 2011 5:27 PM

In one word the new interface for the Pogoplug Biz is "DREADFUL"

For starters I have had to reset all the Custom GUI settings.........

Get rid of the entire list of links to pogoplug/facebook etc at the bottom for starters

Please can the old one or a much improved one be set as this is 100 steps backwards on the presentation side.

April 12, 2011 5:40 PM

@JohnB_UK thanks for chiming in. For a while there I was starting to think that others didn't think it was as big a deal as the author and I do. Any other Biz owners please feel free to chime in too...

As I was contemplating on using the BIZ version for my new venture. I'll have to wait and see, cause the way it is set-up is REALLY BAD!.

They are asking a big premium for the BIZ product and thus should deliver a clean interface and not one which screams POGOPLUG. Get rid of the links and just add a small icon "in collaboration with Pogoplug"

April 18, 2011 6:38 AM

Any news from Pogoplug on the awful current Biz interface??

April 18, 2011 7:26 AM

Thanks for the feedback - we are listening. It sounds like most of the concern is the bottom bar. One of the items you mention, such as being able to switch languages is not company specific and simply allows your users to see the site in different languages.

If there are specific changes you would like to see we definitely want your feedback.

Thanks,

Jed.

Jed, for starters

I honestly prefered the previous GUI, anyway please, its a shame a post was not made in the BIZ forum for feedback prior to the current GUI interface went live.

remove the following links
- Online Help
- Submit a support ticket
- Downloads Cloud Engines
- About Us
- Blog
- Press Pogoplug Community
- Pogoplugged
- Facebook
- Twitter

A custom link or tick box for the Downloads would be good
as then the user has the choice to show or hide it...

For me the language is not really needed and have clicked on them but they dont seem to do anything

What is really disapointing, is this change just happened, no thought of the BIZ users, this chnage was just put live.

The question to Cloud Engines is when will this be updated ?
What DATE will this be implmented?

April 18, 2011 8:19 AM

Jed, this is my list of things that I think need changing:

1. Navigation at the bottom needs to go away. Clients and customers don't need to see that...they SHOULDN'T be seeing that. I lose credibility when other company links are appearing on one of my pages.
2. Tabs at the top need to go away (in public view). People who are just viewing files don't need to see "Share" and "Help Center" tabs...they simply just want to see the files.
3. The panel on the left needs to go (again, in public view). It's a complete waste of screen real estate and should be used for displaying the actual files...not a big blue box.

One could buy 6 Pogoplug Pros for the cost of a single Biz unit; people are paying an additional $250 for the Pogoplug Biz. Unfortunately, that $250 isn't really getting us that much right now. Think about it if you owned a business or were offering a service...would you want some other company promoting their Facebook and Twitter page to your customers? Would you want the clients that you worked hard to get seeing a "Help Center" tab which leads them to a company that they've never heard of before? I don't think I, or any other Biz owners are asking for a whole lot here.

April 18, 2011 8:46 AM

JJ,

Spot on...

April 18, 2011 10:21 AM

Request a refund, that will get their attention... They know EXACTLY what they did and what they need to UNDO. They are just stalling. These changes should have been backed out 24 hours after they occurred.

I've been looking at the comments and they also need a BIZ version of the mobile apps that don't say POGO all over them.

April 18, 2011 10:33 AM

2. Tabs at the top need to go away (in public view). People who are just viewing files don't need to see "Share" and "Help Center" tabs...they simply just want to see the files.

JJ, you are absolutely right on these items as well... Add my vote...

JohnB

Let me know if you get a DATE from CE.  I will be boxing up my Biz tomorrow... if they fix this fast, I'll keep it.

April 18, 2011 2:02 PM

Billy Kidd: Spot on.

EricTheRed: I hope they post the date here, but i will not hold my breath.

April 19, 2011 4:37 PM

The silence is deafening

April 20, 2011 3:10 PM

Guess nothing will happen........

April 20, 2011 3:35 PM

We are still pulling together feature requirements and scheduling them for our next website update. I will update this forum when we have more information.

April 20, 2011 3:36 PM updated: April 20, 2011 3:41 PM

I hate to be the one to post this, but I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of effort that's being put forth. I've been such a big supporter of all Pogoplug products and will continue to be one for the regular pogoplug, but I can't stand behind a product that doesn't get the attention it needs from those who created it and ignores the obvious frustration that its users have...even if it's just a few of us.

I've looked into other solutions to replace my Biz, and didn't have to look too far to be completely honest. I didn't realize that Tonido offers something similar to the Biz: http://www.tonido.com/business.html

I'm not sure how much customization you can do on the web front, so I've emailed them and asked them to let me know if it can be done. I'll post their response as soon as I hear back. If anyone else finds something similar, please let me know.

That's good news. Thank you for the response. PLEASE keep us updated on your progress as I would much rather not have to find another solution.

April 21, 2011 12:50 PM

JJ the tonido looks good

Noticed: Branding Customized UI and URL for customers on the link in your post.

Please keep us updated....

on the Pogoplug Biz front Im so frustrated with the lack of effort that's being put forth like everone else on this disussion and other similar disussions.

April 21, 2011 1:55 PM

Just got a response from the Tonido devs. Here is what they said:

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your interest.

With the current version you can only change the header or title. Customization
of the logo is not possible at this time. But we are working on a pro version -
We have received many requests from users like you.

What else would you like to see in the pro version apart from the custom logo?
Let us know. It will be of great help.

Regards

April 23, 2011 3:36 PM

still looks promising ....... thanks JJ

What is happening with this absoulte 'waste of time' Biz interface.

This seems to prove that "Cloud Engines" are no where near main stream
as they say there products are......they have sure missed the trick
on the Pogoplug Biz model.

Just read this thread:
http://www.pogoplugged.com/forum/thread/16281/Is-there-a-plan-to-reduce-fan-n...

Seems my thinking is spot on
"Cloud Engines" are no where near main stream

April 26, 2011 4:36 PM updated: April 26, 2011 4:39 PM

Well, it's obvious that when they introduced the new look and feel, they made a mistake and applied it to the BIZ product as well... now that said, it may not be a simple matter to undo this.

Suppose, hypothetically, CE made a platform change that now unifies the interface for BIZ and the regular POGOPLUG, PRO, VIDEO, etc., into a common codebase in order to reduce maintenance headaches, improve overall performance, etc.

Well, now there's a problem because BIZ interface is different. And if someone didn't think about this ahead of time (which is obvious that they didn't, I believe)then this may not be an easy thing to rectify.

It could be back to the drawing board for the platform, in this make believe example.

It would be nice to get some FEEDBACK on the nature of the problem and the ETA to getting it done.

Has it even been looked at? By whom? At what technical level? Is the fix on the product roadmap? Where is it on the roadmap?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Any Updates ???
