It sounds like you are doing everything correctly, in a format the Video can support. I'm going to pass this on but you can also submit an official support ticket to Pogoplug so they can investigate.

I started re-doing my video collection in MP4 format. The old settings were 320x240 and so-so video quality because I had to conserve space on my old external HD and the Zune 80. I can still watch the videos on my Android.
Now that I got a 1.5 TB external HD and I'm planning to get my wife a iPad2, I decided to redo the collection with the settings of 680x480 and highest video quality possible.
I'm using Slyfox's CloneDVD Mobile.
So far I did 8 movies and I came across a problem I can't seem to figure out. Before I uploaded the videos into the external, I played them all and they all worked fine. After uploading the videos, only 3 out of 8 works on pogoplug. And I noticed 3 videos that works, streaming and can download on the Android, is under 2 gb each. Videos that doesn't work, is over 2 gb over.
So my question... do size of a video file matters? Does a video file has to be under 2 gb?
What is the file system on the external drive? It could be a filesystem implementation issue.
I haven't used seagate ultra portable 1.5 tb yet. but I'm using the Seagate 500gb FreeAgent Go... I'm not sure what you mean. But here are the specs...

It's possible that the software for encoding doesn't like files that large, or that the underlying access to the filesystem that the seagate drive is formatted with, does not like > 2 GB files. I can't speak to which, but more than likely the software.
My external HD is FAT32. I've been reading into it and it seems that the 2 GB limit is the culprit.
Could someone post the Handbrake quick and dirty setup for successful transcoding for the POgoPlug Video? I've tried converting to MP4 and still the PPV will not play movies local or remotely. The Iphone app crashes when I try to play a movie and my.pogoplug.com just shows a blank screen and looks like it wants to play but never does. I'm almost done with messing with this $200 toy.
