Hi,

  I'm new to pogoplug, and so far like the product. While I'm hoping for dropbox-like integration for the "full" sell, I'm having issues with some sample video.

  I have a H.264 encoded race video from our smartycam (www.smartycam.com) and it looks like the real-time streaming is over-processing the vector graphics overlaid on the screen making them very fuzzy, almost un-readable. While the video is very smooth, the audio is very choppy, like short dropout every quarter of a second.

 The video was tested locally and can share it out for the QA group if needed. Please advise.

Thanks!

Also note, I have turn the optimizations to "Never" and the result was the same.

@Dan Gorman,

What OS and browser are you using to stream the video? When you say you tested it locally, do you mean to say that you were successful in streaming the video from your computer? If so, what player did you use? If not, what exactly do you mean.

If you PM me your email address, I will set up a Full Access share to which you can upload your video, and we'll check it out.

Looks like I got the update, videos still have choppy audio and is quasi unusable for my needs. Any idea on updates? PM's ya Nicky a few days ago, no response yet.

Dan,

We are still looking into transcode performance with that particular file. We are not sure yet exactly what is causing it, but know that it does not affect the majority of supported content.

In the meantime, we updated all Pogoplug Video units to firmware 3.0.0. This update includes a fix where we were not correctly observing the "Never" transcode setting in Settings -> Media Settings. If you now set this option, you will now be able to stream that video in its original format and avoid any of the audio choppiness you previously heard. I have confirmed that the file you sent me works fine in this case.

Nick,

  It's been a couple of months and the audio is still very choppy. Any update? It's a "supported" H.264 video type.
