I'd also like to know a way to hide the Album art. Makes using this for photo viewing completely worthless.
I am sporting something like 300,000-plus photographs on several Pogoplugs.
In the BETA I notice that the ability to show source is, maybe, missing - at least I have not found it yet. When attempting to locate the source of the photograph, the "source" feature is an excellent tool but the granularity is sometimes wanting in a big way. When accessing the BETA from the internet, the "View Options" is available.
I could use the ability to "hide" both pictures and to hide folders of pictures. I use folders to group photographs. Sometimes, well mostly, I prefer not to have the clutter of the photographs in the group that I am not interested in seeing at the moment - this would be best as an on/off toggle for the set/group of photographs.
A perfect reason to have the "hide" feature for the My Library-Photo view happens when music albums and videos are uploaded that include "album" art. The album art is nice to have to visually identify the artist or the movie. Album art is a real annoyance when it appears in the middle of my photographs. I need a way to hide the album art in the Photo section of My Library yet appear as it should in the Music and the Video sections of My Library.
I could also use some sort of ranking system that would rank both folders and pictures within folders; and, finally, pictures across folders as well as across folder groups.
I am getting a strong impresssion that the BETA is more of a Server than a Client like the current Desktop Application. This in its self would explain a lot about how the software has been implemented. If I switch my thinking to the Server side, then a lot of the stuff makes more sense. If the implementation is supposed to be a server then I think that a lot of people will be less than satisfied especially if they have used the Desktop Application in conjunction with a Pogoplug which are very client side for what they do together.
Pogoplug Farming(tm) is Fun!
