Not really much info so far. This seems to be nearly the same hardware so I don't know how comparable it is - http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/nas/nas-reviews/31340-new-to-the-charts-buffal... . There is a comparison chart but not to pogoplug or dockstar.
Categories: Other Pogoplug Enabled Devices
Anybody get one of these yet? Amazon is showing them available. Would like to hear some feedback on it & comparisons with Pogoplug & Dockstar, etc. Thanks!

I have one and have been putting it through its paces. It is a pretty simple box that Buffalo worked with Pogo Plug on to bundle the best of the Pogo Plug solution with an embedded drive. I have the pro version with two slots, but only a single 2.0TB drive in it. So far, so good. Speeds are good for a single drive system and the web interface and CIFS (SMB)/NFS connectivity is good so far. I wrote an article for the-gadgeteer on how to select once of these Digital Media Storage Devices for your home and you can check it out at http://the-gadgeteer.com/2011/02/16/what-to-consider-before-buying-a-digital-...
As a note...I haven't played around with the transcoding function to see live video from the Cloudstor to my mobile devices - that's on tap for today.
Enjoy!
Thanks for the feedback. It would be great to see you do an expanded review targeting it's Pogoplug features. It would also be nice to see how it compares to the standard Pogoplug device & the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net device. Thanks again!
I am looking for a cloud device to use in a business format, wherein we have multiple people needing to access items and add items. But, the staff is rather fluid - over the last 6 mos, we have "exhcnged" over 32 people, all of whom were accessing files and adding files to the collaboration site. The site we use seems to always be in flux as well, and we are tryign to determine what is a good solution. I was looking at the pogoplug BIZ device, but it still seems to need the my pogoplug site to work, I would like to by a device and wean us off a web-based sevice to do it. We are not computer gurus, so I was looking at POGO and others to see if it were a solution. I would want to be able to limit access to certain files and record who access and changed a file last.
Any suggections? Buffalo? Pogo? Seagate?
Google Docs is a great free solution that I use regularly as is DropBox. Also a Sharepoint Server or Confluence Wiki works well...it all depends on what you are trying to do...NAS solutions in you office are going to be problematic unless you have really great bandwidth and test it with your employees...I strongly suggest a commercially available cloud solution for this reason....checkout Google Docs...I use it for a bunch of projects and have been very happy.
