I just installed the new beta software and must say I am really liking the new layout, and the options of Remote Access for the whole PC is HUGE.  What an awesome idea.  Now onto the issue....

I am attempting to stream a movie to my Palm Pre smartphone via the Pogoplug app and the movie starts right up, but will only play the first 10 seconds of the file.  How can I get it to play the whole file, and why is it stopping?

Thanks,

T

I've seen this same issue with the currently released 2.5.5 version when I attempt to stream to my IPhone 3GS. Curious to see if any solutions are posted to this thread. Please let me know if you get an answer directly from the Forum or from PogoPlug support!

Have the same issue..

By default it only creates a 10 sec preview. If you want to do full transcoding then you'll have to go to Settings -> Media Settings to change it.

As soon as I first encountered this problem I immediately went to my settings and enabled the "Full Transcode" option for all of the shares I had currently configured. It is now 2 months later and it should have had plenty of time to generate the necessary transcodes for all of the videos and movies I am sharing. Still only getting 10 seconds!

After setting that option did you tell it to rescan for videos to transcode?

No! I would have never noticed that or thought that it would be necessary. If one changes an option to "Full Transcode" one would think it should trigger an automatic re-scan. Of course, I know this is a relatively new product, so I guess that "feature" will be in another release :-)! Is that documented?! No need to answer (retorical question :-) If it isn't, it should be!

BTW, Just telling it to "rescan" did nothing! I had to select the option at the very bottom of the PogoPlug Media Settings page to show media that had not yet been transcoded, then select "ALL" and FORCE a transcode. That is unacceptable and extremely poor UI design.
