I just setup a website that runs completely from My pogoplug,I have a 2 Gig USB drive that my website is setup on,And even have a domain for it http://www.just25watts.tk .It took me awhile to figure out how to do it,I couldn't find anybody doing this so I just starting trying out different things. So bottom line I have a free domain with a free hosting account running on a pogoplug,The possibilities are endless.

Wow! That works really nicely - are you going to publish a HOWTO at some stage?

My only question is where did you get the free domain?

I am curious about your user name. One of the reasons that I bought the PogoPlug was because of the low power use - around 5 watts. I just re-checked their feature listing and they actually claim 4 watts. Did you pick that name because of the PogoPlug?

That so funny that you asked that question,I made up the name from owing a ipad I believe the ipad works off a 25 watt power adapter.Well thanks to you I desided to setup a http://www.just5watts.tk/ website.

Just did some calculations and with my 60 gig a month data cap I can can handle 54000 hits a day of course this is based on the size of my site that's running off my PogoPlug.

I am new to web design and I want to host my sites on a pogoplug but my question is do you have to use the .tk or can you use a .com or .net?

Hello!

That's odd. In both cases I am being directed to the parking page that domain name registries attempt to use to get people to register a domain there.

Idiotic I know, but that's the way the bottom feeders of the Internet do their work.

The dot tk site was probably cancelled and that is why it is reverting back to an unknown site or a page where you can purchase the site address.

With the newer updates from Pogoplug and how their sharing of public files works the use of dot tk is no longer needed.
For example.
http://ppl.ug/zWkwbH2310o/fv will show you a little website demo I created. The info on it needs to be updated but it will give you an idea on how it works.
