I had this same issue trying to use my Pro. I wanted to use it for data storage and it entailed about 300,000+ files. I had to constantly remove, reload, reindex the drive all the time with the Pro taking hours to re-index. Finally one time it never finished indexing after over 24+ hours of constant cranking away.
Took the drive off the Pro and tried to salvage it. The drive file structure was so corrupted that I had to throw it away. Couldn't repartition, reformat, add, delete or anything.
I am noticing an increase in the number of times I need to take a drive offline from my plug, run it through windows to fix any isses, remove the .cedata folder, then let the plug rescan and rebuild this.
This is the case with my music drive which is regularly accessed. Now, is it Dokan which is causing the problem, the indexing agent on the plug or something else? This seems to be a major stumbling block if (and when) the indexes get corrupt.
Does anyone else regularly run into this problem?
I use to run samba on the plug with the open pogo tools and never had a days bother with access. I think I will have to rebuild a thumb drive to restore samba access again.
Cheers,
Colin.
