Is your router blocking outgoing (and/or incoming) packets sent to
service.pogoplug.com port 4365
I have two Seagate GoFlex drives hooked up to the Seagate GoFlex Net and I will say it took some time for them to appear (lots of files).
Aside from the delay, once things got going, it worked fine.
If you can check your router for LAN clients, check the lan clients BEFORE plugging in the GoFlex Net, then plug in the GoFlex net, and re-check your Lan Clients. See if it added one (did the GoFlex Net successfully get an IP address on your LAN).
Hello. I hope this is the right place to post. If not, please excuse me as I'm new around here. I thought I would try here since Seagate support is somewhat lacking and their forums are not well attended. I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions - I have a brand new GoFlex Net, connected by ethernet cable to an Airport Extreme. But the GoFlex is unable make the initial connection to Pogoplug. DHCP is enabled. I don't think UDP traffic is filtered by the Airport, but I'm not positive. I don't really know how to confirm. The Airport Extreme will let you map ports (I've successfully set this up for torrenting), but ports have to be mapped to specific device addresses (10.0.1.x). After connecting the GoFlex Net, I querry the Airport Extreme logs (the utility will show you a list of DHCP clients). The GoFlex has not been assigned an IP Address. Other devices are assigned addresses dynamically. I'm not sure why GoFlex Net is ignored. Has anyone run into a similar problem? Thanks.
As it turns out, it wasn't a router problem. Rather it was the ethernet cable that came with the Goflex Net. After reading this thread I switched out the supplied cable with a known working cable and presto, green light. It's all good now.
Thanks for replying and I hope others with the same problem find this forum.
