Define "will not boot":
- Does it show up on the network?
- Does it try to communicate?
- Does it do none of the above?
- Did you ever modify the firmware?

Hi All,
My PogoPlug will not boot, it simply has a flashing green and then orange light when I plug it in. It has been working fine for months. I have checked ethernet cables and my router, all appear to be working correctly.
I have raised a support ticket, but in the meantime - anyone got any ideas? I can't live without my Pogoplug! :)
Many thanks,
Aj
Hi WarheadsSe,
Thanks for the response (and sorry for the delay in getting back to you).
I did solve my problem... I found that leaving the pogoplug unplugged (from the mains) for a few hours seemed to do the trick. For some reason my Pogoplug does not like reboots, each time I perform one I have to leave it unplugged for a few hours to get rid of the flashing light issue.
I have no idea why...
Cheers,
Aj
Oh and "will not boot" meant that it would not receive an IP address, I could not SSH to it, it was inaccessible from my.pogoplug.com...
:)
I have the same problem. Everything worked fine until today. When I unplug the pogoplug device and plug it back in flash green for a while and then change to flashing amber. Tried everything with no result. I have to return the device for a refund. I have important shared items on this device.
@Rian
I apologize for being late in responding, I've been extremely busy. This is definitely worth opening a support ticket over, and having the unit exchanged. You will however have to re-share your files (most likey), but the unit itself should not be storing any of that information.
For others that run into this problem, it seems to be related to an electrical issue in the power supply, and you can: A) wait for the capacitors to discharge B) unplug, and then cross the pins of the power supply (where the power cable goes) with a flat head screwdriver, or a table knife, and see if it come back faster.
That series of blinking lights seems to indicate a failure of the boot system to properly initialize the system, pointing to this.
