Since the pogoplug a mash of linux isn't a possability to run the (for txt sake no called pogoOS) via a virtual machine like Virtual Box? I don't know a lot about building and compiling linux I messed around with Ubuntu but that is about it, anyone else had a crazy idea like that?

The reason being is that I work for BestBuy and we get a pogoplug for free to inform customer's about its awesomeness. However that takes 3-5 weeks before I get one and being the impaitent little troll I want to start playing withone and doing experiements with the system, one; attempting a hardware based RAID for data redun or two; remote defrag and hdd mat.
