To clarify--are you using Active Copy to do this? I've honestly never tried using Active Copy on a remote computer with Pogoplug Drive installed, attempting to back up automatically to a remote Pogoplug--do I have that right?
In short, I'm not sure if Active Copy was intended to be used that way. It works best on drives that are "always-on" in your local network, or Pogoplug => Pogoplug backups.
However, I think it would work, but you might have to start and stop the Active Copy operations manually.
I'm going to see if the folks at Pogoplug have any more input on solving your problem, too--or you can contact Pogoplug support as well.
I am trying to backup my college students laptop using Pogoplug from our home. The laptop has the Pogoplug drive downloaded and while visiting her at school, I set the pictures folder to backup and started a new backup with all the documents. It appears the pictures worked but the documents one has not.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? Since the computer is not on our home network, is there a limit to the size of files folders that will be synced?
I want to provide her a comprehensive backup that will stay synced without her having to do anything.
Thanks.
Peter:
Thanks for the help. I have contacted Support and we are working through it, but it is difficult since I do not have the computer here.
They have not fold me that it is not feasible, so I hope we can resolve the issue.
