In my experience those type of files are programs and not really files at all. If what I am saying is correct you should not be able to open them via the pogoplug web browser. There may be other reason why your files have that ending, but for me all of my programs are in this format.
Categories: Pogoplug Classic
When I go to mypogoplug.com and view my remote home server files, I see a lot of files listed under the "type" column as "application/octet-stream".
Not being a techie programmer, I have no idea what these files are, how they came to be, and why are they roosting on my drive? If they don't serve any useful purpose, I'd like to delete all of them so I can remove the clutter from my drive.
Is there a way to keep these octets from showing up when I move files to my pogoplug drive? I simply want my drive to look like a normal Windows Explorer directory with familiar file extensions such as .exe, .doc, .xls, etc.
Thanks for any insight.
