This may sound strange, but my Internet Connection is slow & my Buddy is having a hard time of downloading my Audio Files. It's transferring at between 7-15 kbps. I looked in Media Setting to Transcode Video & to my Surprise it Picked Audio to Transcode as well. It's still transcoding a Video right now, but will it Transcode Audio & would that make the speed of my Buddy's downloads be a lot faster? I'm new at this, so don't shoot me. I just don't know! :-) I'm desperate to get his downloads speeded up. Anything else in settings that would speed it up. Thanks in advance!

The Pogoplug doesn't really transcode audio, although it will create thumbnails and meta-data so it can be searched and album covered will be displayed, which is probably what you saw.

If you want to make your music files smaller, you'll need to use a separate encoder program, but then the quality will suffer.

Peter, I just today upgraded my Internet Speed to "AT&T DSL Xtreme 6.0".
My typical Download Speed now is 5.66 Mb/s & my Upload is 0.42 Mb/s.
I hope this helps my situation. Do you think it will?

If there is a way for you to test for me, I would gladly send you an invite to a Folder. Thanks!

BTW, I have my setting for this Forum to receive emails when someone replies to my Posts, but I never get any emails. It does not work.
