You can thru iTunes. I have 3 express's hooked up. All songs are on HD attached to Pogplug.

Hello,
I have a pogo which i brought as it enabled me to play videos to my android and my iPad. I have just brought a AppleTV 2 because in 4.3 iOS you can airplay videos from third party apps. I was wondering if this is something that the Pogo App on the iPad will support?
Thanks
I have tried video though itunes and it works as well, but would love to select a film on the pogo app on the iPad and send it to the Apple TV. That way I do not have to have a computer on or have to use itunes. It is coming in Airplay video for third party apps is coming in 4.3 but the developer has to turn it on.
Is that all you want is to play movies from pogo to tv from HD storage?
If so I use a WDTV Live Plus. Plays rips, mkv avi, pretty much any format including mp4. With mp4 you can watch on Ipad or WDTV. I dont believe an apple tv will play anything except thru iTunes.
With Handbrake you can get your movies pretty small and download them to ipad. I have 295 movies in 235 gigs. With a 64gig ipad you store quite a few movies at a time.
Thats why I have an Airport Exprees and a WDTV hooked to my reciever because Appletv wont play movies from POGO.
The facility is there to play film to Apple TV but all you get is sound no video
I imagine now IOS 4.3 is around apps will be updated to allow video to be played as well as audio.
Here is a link to a post on Ars Technica which shows how to enable AirPlay video for any web server. I suspect that a similar technique could be used for the PogoPlug (once you have a web server and PHP running on the PogoPlug).

The new v4.0 Pogoplug app for the iPhone/iPod touch now works with AirPlay. I've been using it tonight and it seems to work pretty well. I was even able to stream some 1080p content to my Apple TV that was stored on my Pogoplug Pro using the new Pogoplug app with my 4th-gen iPod touch (my iPhone 3GS also worked). This is on completely standard iOS, no jailbreaking involved. My Pogoplug device firmware is also standard, no changes whatsoever there.
You can stream both video (H.264 in .mov, .mp4, and .m4v containers) and audio. Pictures don't seem to work (there is no AirPlay icon or any other GUI element in the Pogoplug app to initiate streaming of the photos to the Apple TV).
What this means is that you can now use the Pogoplug as a kind of NAS for your Apple TV without jailbreaking or any other changes to either the Apple TV or your iPhone/iPod touch (other than installing the new Pogoplug v4 app).
Unfortunately, it appears that the new Pogoplug app won't work on the iPad. The app will install and launch but shortly after you see the "splash" screen the display on the iPad turns solid white and you can't do anything in the app from that point on.
