I have the same problem on a PogoPlug Basic.. XBMC finds [insert sound of wind blowing here] aka -Nothing-.
I enabled transcode and 14hrs later, one film was transcoded :-)

Hi there,
So having searched this topic I've found nothing definitive, so here goes. There are various mentions on here of both Boxee and XBMC supporting Pogoplug access over LAN, albeit unofficially. Indeed, there are several direct claim that it works.
With this in mind, I have aTV Flash installed on my AppleTV. Both programs have network access. UPnP is enabled in the router (I'm in the UK, its a BT Home Hub). Pogoplug is running UI 2.5.6, and in both of the Appropriate Drives, Streaming to a PS3, XBox etc is Enabled, and Transcoding is set to Never.
However in Both programs when I add a source, and browse to UPnP - nothing. I can see various other Network shares, so I know there isn't a network issue on the Apple TV.
Can anyone help, and explain how exactly they added a Pogoplug to AppleTV ?
I know I can hack it and get OpenPogo going, but frankly I don't want to risk it, for such a simple feature.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
James
Yeah, should have said, I'm on the Pink Pogoplug.
The chat on here seems to be that Transcode should be off - because when XBMC has drive access, it can play those files natively, it doesn't need a converted version.
But would really like some answers on this, as currently it just doesn't happen !
Also interested in the XMBC/Pogo...but more so with a Acer Revo, running XBMC Live. Anyone else doing that yet?
hey guys I just bought this a couple of hours ago and followed this instructions:
http://www.pogoplugged.com/article/13369/How-To-Enable-Pogoplug-Media-Streami...
and it worked for me on xbmc (UPnP), so I would assume this should work for everything else too?
Just bought an Apple TV 2. Jailbroken to latest iOS (equivalent to 4.3.1). Installed aTV flash and then XBMC and Plex. I can now use the pogoplug app on an iphone, ipod touch or ipad and then hit the airplay button (as the film starts) and it streams straight onto my TV. Works fantastically. However, still having teething problems with a direct stream out of the pogoplug onto the Apple TV. I can see the shares via uPNP on XBMC. I can see mp4 files (some of them claim to be 0 bytes but others are being seen as full files). When i try to play though, the XBMC bins out and crashes - reverting me back to the main Apple TV interface. But I HAVE got it working with some audio files. Need to upload more to my pogoplug to see if it is fully working.
So close and yet, still, so far...
I'll let you know if I get anywhere with it.
I am in the exactly your situation nickgarnett!!!!
I can see pogoplug upnp share in iphone and ipad both with xbmc without any problem, but AppleTV2 with 4.3.1 and xbmc simply lock my aTV!!
I used seas0npass to jb...
Anyway, i tried another one uPnp server (uShare) and it does not have the same problem... it's a pogoplug related problem
Please, let me know if you have some news
Kind regards
When i set up plex, i pointed my media to the pogoplug folder where the media was, so i wouldnt have to watch media threw the pogoplug app (cuz it kinda sucks) then air play it to the aTV, it saves a step where something could go wrong and have to buffer or something.
Having the same problem as nickgarnett and Giuseppe Donato. I see the device under uPnP and I am able to add it as a source. I can even browse the source and see all the files.
However, when I try to play one, nothing happens and looks like XBMC just crashes.
I am now looking into install samba on pogoplug and then will use smb shares to stream to my jailbroken ATV2 (4.3.1). Although I hear that once you install Plugbox that you lose the pogo plug functionality- which sucks, as I really like the way it is out of the box.
Not sure if anyone has found a way around this without having to resort to samba.
I solved installing ushare + samba (just for my computer) thru optware (http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/PlugComputers) that will preserve original pogoplug software too! (easy installation without needed to reinstall everything!)
Now all is perfect!
Hmmm.. A little confused Giuseppe Donato.
Correct me if I'm wrong;
If I have the stock firmware installed. I then follow the instructions here to install optware, yet preserve my.pogoplug.com service: http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Main/PlugComputers
Then I follow the instructions pasted here to install samba (towards the bottom): http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/Samba2
Did I miss anything?
I just installed a dedicated computer with PogoPlug Premium license. I added a disk with my movies. On my client computer, with also PogoPlug installed, the shared folder show under default P:. In XBMC I just added source set to that share, and it seems to work fine.
It seems that PogoPlug doesnt work with adding a network share on the hosting computer.
I have insted set up a sync with GoodSync between my NAS and the internal disk in the host computer running every night.
The host computer is nothing special, a P4 3.2GHz 1GB RAM, system and programs on a 80GB disk and the media library on a 1TB disk.
The 1TB disk was orginally a USB disk, but there was major problems copying/syncing large file over the LAN to USB connected disk.
Made this installation during the night, and have just made inital tests. But so far so good ...
