Okay so lets get to it.  I have a Biz and multi user setup for the church I work for.  Most of the ministers use an iPad, laptop, iPhone, and something else.  (at least 2 of those per minister) They need to be able to upload/download and open things in different applications.

I am not versed in Linux, but researching this has pulled the possibility that a webdav service can be put on the plug.  If so how would I go about doing that and what would I use.  Also, I want to be able to keep my.pogoplug.com services.

Ok, scary thing you said "I am not versed in Linux" (usually I turn to Jello and not even answer posts when I see this). First, the cloud engines services might actually work for you, a little slow (according to some users, but they are probably talking about local access) but useable. I would try that first since that is what the Biz is all about. In fact that is it's main selling point - Cloud/remote access.

If nothing else works, here is another topic where webdav was discussed:
http://www.pogoplugged.com/forum/thread/15413/PlugApps-and-My-Pogoplug-integr...

But then, I would get help from some parishioner that knows Linux. Actually, the only problem with the Biz may be that it should have supplementary samba access for a more reliable local connection until cloud engines get their connector problems worked out, which is usually a faster connection. Ok, indexing may be another problem, but patience usually take care of that.

Not knowing it that well doesn't mean I can't and am not willing to learn. It's just that until now I have never had much of a reason to learn. I have "stuck my foot in the water" a few times but that is it. The other thread looks very helpful. By the way any suggestions as to a good place to start with Linux. (build? help sites? Etc)

Actually for the arm/plugs depending on which way you go, plugapps, optware, debian, all the sites are mentioned in that one link so you should just explore. Let google be your friend. This has me a little stumped since I learned Unix probably 3 x Justin Bieber's age ago. Probably just google linux or unix tutorials. Anybody else care to chime in?

Ok, after thinking about it:
1. I don't know what OS you use but download Virtual Box http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads and install this on your desktop/laptop system.
2. Download Debian Linux http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.7/i386/iso-cd/debian-507-i386-busines... or http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.7/i386/iso-cd/debian-507-i386-netinst... (if the other one doesn't work) and use this as your installation media. When you get to the point where it asks for packages to install, don't select anything. You just want command line. Don't worry about thrashing the system.
3. Learn the shell http://linuxcommand.org/learning_the_shell.php
4. Learn vi editor http://www.uic.edu/depts/accc/software/unixgeneral/vi101.html
5. Learn Debian http://www.aboutdebian.com/ If you learn Debian, in one way or another you can apply it to other distributions. Read the section on Packages so you will know how to install packages. When in doubt about a command use man [command].

Play around and don't worry about making mistakes.
