Hi all,

Ok i was really excited about getting the Pogoplug Pro to get access to all my video files when i am travelling etc and its not really working. Ok here is my setup

Setup

Broadband connection is with Smart Broadband in Irleand with the following  package 4Mb up 256Kb down.

PogoPlug Software is 2.5.9

Ipod Touch app version is 3.0.1

Western Digital 500Gb palm drive

The Pogoplug Pro is plugged into an ethernet port on the broadband router. I have a 500Gbe Westren Digital Portport hard drive that has a mixture of videos, MP3 songs and pictures.

I transcoded a few films using the freeware application "handbrake" as the in built trancoding on the pogoplug is just too slow but this does not annoy me like other posts as the pogoplug functionality for me was to have the ability to stream videos on my ipod touch.

When i am at home on my ipod touch and connected to my broadband wireless the video streming is good to the point that i was smialling with excitement that this was a great buy.

Now when i go outside my house and use other internet locations the streaming is choppy to the point it just doesnt work. I thought it might be the internet connections in other locations but i tried it over my family homes internet which is the same setup as mine and i was the only person on the internet and it was choppy and stalled for several minutes. I used it on my work connection which is a 20Mb uncontended connection that is barely used but I work in telecommunication and can provision links like this very easily. The pogoplug counld not strem the video and theis frustrated me even more.

I disabled the wifi on the pogoplug pro to make sure the ethernet connection was the primary connection to the internet as my router is not.1n and hence the ethernet port is probably better. Maybe i'm wrong?

Why am i having the video streming issues on my IPOD Touch. I cant under stand if i am in my house where the pogoplug is the streaming is perfect. this confuses me as i dont connect to the PogoPlug Pro through a LAN. I go out  onto the internet  simialr to the Pogoplug so connecting from home or work should all be the same. I understand if my internet connection in a hotel etc was poor this should not work well but when i am at work or at my family home this should be working perfect.

Can anyone advice as the main reason i got this was to access videos and not songs.
