I found this below when researching, but nothing really explaining what to do. I really need to back up my pictures somewhere on the hard drive, but do not want to keep it on my computer.

Automatically Synchronize Photos, Videos, Music and Other Selected Content

Users can synchronize their Pogoplug with their PC or Mac to automatically import new content from popular applications such as iTunes, Windows Media Player, and iPhoto. This feature allows Pogoplug owners to “set it and forget it” and always have access to new photos, videos and music from anywhere on the Internet.

Pogoplug has a feature called "Active Copy," which enables you, essentially, to back up any folder from a network attached drive to the Pogoplug, and any time you add or change a file in the source area, it's copied over to the Pogoplug.

If you want to back up your photos permanently to the Pogoplug, in theory, you could house your iPhoto Library on the Pogoplug shared drive, but your mileage may vary in terms of file transfer and access speed when you do this.

Also, Apple kind of throws a wrench in the works with the way they package the iTunes Library in a single "container" file. I'm not sure if you housed your library on the Pogoplug, whether the My.Pogoplug interface and mobile apps would be able to index the photos separately.

I'm going to do some testing on this and see what I can find out.

Thanks! Let me know what you found out. If I'm going to do this, I want to do it right. I love my mac, but I don't want to backup something I can't use later on... I appreciate your help.
