My business purchased a Pogoplug for use as a defacto server for the back end of a Microsoft Access based accounting system that company management uses to manage inventories/purchase orders etc. from remote locations. However, we are experiencing data transfer rates that are so slow it renders the Pogoplug completely unusable for the task.

Users on all ends have broadband connections, and given the tiny amounts of data being transferred, the slow transfer speeds don't make sense. Uploading files to the shared drive is glacial, and accessing the database backend remotely takes literally 10 minutes to open a form that runs even a small query against the dbase. Hoping there is a setting we can change or some other impediment that you can point out that will help us out (we are NOT using the full security setting btw).

Below is the hardware connected to the Pogoplug. All user have high speed broadband internet connections throughout. And, we are using Pogoplug Drive.

  • Phantom Dreamdrive 2 Terabyte Pro. 32 MB USB 2.0 Escapa Cache.
  • Cysco Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router. Model WRT 54G2-V1
  • Comcast Motorola SBV 5220 cable modem.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
