I run a large PHPBB forum and am looking for somthing to replace Flickr with for pictures.

I need ot find out if I can retrieve a url that iwll allow me to embed a picture into a forum message.  Or is there required software that will be an intemediary between my message and the picture.

Usually I can simply embed a picture like so:

[img]http://www.ielmira.com/pictureserver/var/albums/Elmira-History-Images/Aeriel%...

Any way that I can do this?

Also, can any of the pogoplug units act as a simple media server, without having to rely on the mypogo website?  I liek to keep my urls clean and stay within my own domain.

Thanks.

Take a look at this thread on using a public URL and see if that helps.

I am not sure what you are looking for regarding the media server. A public or private type of thing?

Ok, it looks liek a direct link will work for me.

Now, do I need to use the my.pogoplug.com url or can I use my own url?

I prefer a url that looked like: http://www.myurl.com/share/23r89y2f2f998.gif

Is the my.pogoplug software available for me to run on my own servers?

You can only use your own URL if you have a Biz and setup CNAME to redirect.
You can't run the My.pogoplug software on your own server. You can run the Pogoplug drive app on a computer and if it works as a server you can link or share directly.
