Lol, you haven't sinned, just tinkered a bit too deep, that's all :)
In all seriousness, I've never "bricked" a Pogoplug personally nor have I needed to restore it to original shape, and I don't know of any "built-in" way to do this automatically.
You can try checking out the PlugApps forums or submit a support ticket to Pogoplug directly, they'll be happy to help you out.

Hi, all.
I was lucky enough to receive a Pogoplug Pink V2 as gift and I thought I would try out setting up a LAMP server on it as instructed here. All went well. I can ssh, everything, etc, etc. Then I plugged in a drive and nothing happened. I figured that this is just a typical "You have been using Ubuntu for far too long" issue and I would have to mess about with /etc/fstab, etc. And the more I thought about it, I would also have to start mucking about with opening ports on the router, dealing with creating users, monitoring log files. I had turned this happy little appliance into a pet of sorts! And I was not ahppy about it. I was glad when I moved my last LAMP server out to the cloud and now I manage most all my internal networking (DHCP, DNS, etc) stuff via my Tomato router. After years of having a Linux server running in the house, I was actually relieved when the last one croaked and the new wife was not so excited for me to rebuild it.
Cut back to today and the reason I am here.
I rebooted the device without the LAMP USB drive inserted and I do have ssh access, but I do not have the yummy goodness of a drive getting mounted, which kind of defeats the purpose of the device. I would like my appliance back, please. But I am unsure how to go about reflashing the device. I have ssh access with either the LAMP install booted or the "hobbled" stock firmware running, so I do not think I need to build a cable (right?).
I have downloaded the files ce_uboot_v1.0.bin.zip and u-boot-pogoplug2_pp256_nand.bin.zip from this site and I am just looking for a bit of guidance/advice/link to the HOWTO. Everything I have come across seems to involve the older model, the cable and software that 404s when you try to wget it.
I am sorry that I sinned and tried to use the device in a way that it was not intended. I have learned my lesson and would like to get it back to the shape it should be in. Can any one offer me some help?
Thanks,
Matt
