Hi,

Assuming that I have properly set up file sharing with a friend, is is possible to direct that friend to a particular file in the shared area via a URL?  For example, if I just uploaded a photo to the shared folder, and I wanted to direct someone to that photo file in particular, in Skype, for instance, is there any way that I can post a URL to the file that the other person could just click on and see the file (after going through the mypogoplug authentication, if necessary)?

Thanks,

Ken

Hi,

Thanks for the info, but when I tried clicking that icon, I got the "Invite" screen, asking me to invite someone to access the file.  On the "More Sharing Options" tab, I can see how to publish the file to social media sites, but it's still not obvious to me how I'd get what you refer to as a ShareURL, which seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.  FYI, I'm looking at my files via the my.pogoplug.com web interface, and in the folder that contains the image that I want a URL for, there are only two images shown as thumbnails; not the tabular view that you are showing.  Am i in the correct place to get the ShareURL?

Thanks,

Ken

If I'm understanding your question, the short answer is no, you can't do a ShareURL. The closest thing you can do is:
1. Have the person subscribe to the RSS feed for that folder.
2. Temporarily make the file publicly visible, share the generated link, then remember to un-check the public box (assuming you don't want anyone else seeing it)

The view you are seeing in the screenshot is the same view that you have, except the author clicked the "list view" button in the lower left corner of the page. The large thumbnails are shown by default.

Oops, well... the confusion here is that it is part of PublicURL.

Hi,

The direct link to file URL that you showed is exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks.

You can also use the embed link to forward a domain link,Just like I did,If you go to www.just25watts.com it will send you to a website that is sitting on my PogoPlug and Google will index it in the search engine I setup my website almost a month ago and I have had about 930 unique hits to my website so far.And the best part I didn't have to hack my PogoPlug to do it.
