Hi all,

read this a couple of times but spotted no valid solution for this.. Problem is that from time to time all files disapear when navigation with the finder thru the mounted pogoplug shares..

The folders seems to be there but not the files displayed! Only rebooting the mac seems to help here!

My system specs are:

Mac Mini (2007) 32-bit Processor 1,66 Ghz Intel Core Duo, RAM: 2GB OS: 10.6.5

Looking forward for any hints

Stefan

Found this to be an issue as well. Has happened 2x. I didn't reboot my iMac, but here what I did do as a work around.

Unmounted PP, disconnect HDD from PP.
Connected HDD directly to the iMac, mounted the drive.
Started Disk Utility, ran verify and repair.
*Drive reported no problems though.
Verified files were present and read/writable.
Reconnected PP and launched PP.

Each time files and folders disappeared, I was presented with a "-36" fail (the full message I don't recall), and I'm not sure what that is, except maybe it has something to do with read/write. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I'm not who I think I am and I'm not who you think I am, but I am who I think you think I am.

Hi Benzman,

thanks for your reply, wow, your approach sounds even more difficult than even to reboot the mac..

You're welcome. However, I don't see how unplugging a USB drive from Pogo and plugging in to your Mac is more difficult than shutting down everything that's running (TV app, Torrent client, Browser, Email, + +, etc.) and rebooting. Also, when you check the drive with Apple's native "Disk Utility", you will KNOW if the drive is okay or not. Though rebooting may work, it doesn't check your drives, ever.

:) your of course right regarding healthy of the drive, until now, I even didn't think about that the drive could be corrupt or something.. hmmm why are you thinking the drives could be harmed?

but my pogoplug and also the harddrive is stored inside a bookshelf behind some books, so i have to take away the books first, then unplug the drive take the power cord move everything over to the mac and afterwards back.. so it seems for me the "easier" solution to reboot the mac.. And for me this happens at least twice a week, so maybe i should talk with my wife about the setup at all ;)

best regards, stefan
