I think supporting the ElGato Turbo .264 HD (or another USB based 264 compressor/offloader) as a device to pipe video streaming thru would be a very useful solution. Like a slingbox but different application, would take compression load/delay off of the pogoplug as well as increase streaming performance. You could potentially use it to alleviate the need to recompress files (and decrease storage usage) and just use it to realtime dynamically stream existing content when accessing via the internet or mobile devices. This (if possible) seems like it would be a much more elegant alternative solution to slowly recompressing all requested videos on the hard-drive.
How likely does this seem as an option? Elgato is already using this device to dynamically accelerate streams on their EyeTV package. If not, is there anything in the works for similar functionality?
Thank you,
Brandin
