When I plug my hard drive into the Pogoplug device that device shows up as expected although as Drive Q. However, another device, drive P:, shows up called Files Shared with Me. I am unable to paste folders into this device. It says I need permission to do so. What is going on?

The "Files Shared With Me" is a special folder that does not allow modifications at its root level.
Someone must share something to you. Then you'll have another folder inside this "Files shared with me" folder. That is a folder you'll see files in and possibly be able to put files in, if the person who shared it to you enabled Full-control.
