Thanks! That did it for my MacBook Pro!!!
Hi guys,
Felt the need to sign up for the forums to post my problem and solution that I didnt see posted elsewhere on the forum.
BACKGROUND:
Brand new Pogoplug Pro, web interface works fine, however MacDrive app just doesnt load despite changing every setting possible, trying wired and wireless, and trying multiple drives.
SOLUTION:
Best advice I can give folks is have console.app open when trying to load the Mac Drive app. This will tel you exactly whats going on, and thereafter google is your friend!
For me, I saw fusefs.kext failed to load. So problem was down to MacFuse somehow. Turns out MacFuse has a problem with 64 bit kernels which I didnt even realise my mac was running.
2 options:
1 - reboot Mac holding down keys 3 and 2 to boot into 32 bit kernel to see if it works then, or
2 - download the specific MacFuse version that runs in a 64 bit kernel which is ver 2.1.7
Link is: http://static.caurea.org/MacFUSE/MacFUSE-2.1.7.dmg
Low and behold, up the beautiful pink drives popped in finder.
As a side note, credit where credit is due, while I was doing all the above, I got a message back from Pogoplug Support, asking if I was running 64 bit and if so to download MacFuse 2.1.7. So they hit the nail on the head and seem to know their stuff too!
So, all in all, happy!.....(so far!)
Just thought Id share in case it helps others. Console will really help you out.
Glad to be of help! Was worth posting if it helped even more person out!
For me, I found MacFuse on 64 bit is not as stable as the current version of MacFuse on 32bit kernel of Snow Leopard. So I permanently am running 32bit kernel and Popoplug seems more snappier and faster performance.
