Problem I suspect is NTFS 3G or MacFuse. It is well known for being slow, and I have experienced this sort of copy time even without a Pogoplug in the mix.
If Mac, stay away from NTFS is my recommendation!
I'm doing a copy in finder and have never seen it be so slow.
Copying - 600GB
From - 1TB HFS+ drive on the plug
To - 2TB NTFS drive on the plug (read/write/format NTFS in OSX is possible using NTFS-3G)
I've done plug to plug finder copy before between two HFS+ drives and it wasn't this slow.
Both drives plugged directly on USB into the Mac on the desktop a copy of this size would normally take probably something like 6 hours.
Thoughts anyone?
I thought about using the plug web UI copy function to do this, but figured it's even slower than the finder. Maybe not?
