I've got a Seagate Dockstar and the pretty pink Pogoplug.

One of them is at the office, the other at home.

Is there any way to get drive letter access to both at the same time?

Of course, I can view both via web browser (login at seagate.pogoplug.com for the Dockstar, and my.pogoplug.com for the pretty pink), but I'd like to be able to use Sync tools with drive letters staying assigned for both devices.

(What would happen if I set the e-mail address and password for both accounts to be the same and used the drive letter app?)

Thanks for any ideas...

From my observation, I think drive letter access only works on a local LAN with the desktop software. Therefore, the computer you are on would have to see both drives on the same LAN, so I don't think that will work by itself.

Thinking outside the box though, you might be able to do it by creating a VPN to the remote network where the remote unit is seen as local by the software.

By the way, I have a dockstar and a pogoplug pro too. I have both registered in the my.pogoplug account and bypassed opening a second account on seagate.pogoplug.com. I can see all drives on both units in the same interface, which might allow you to do what you want without the drive letter access if you just want access to everything in one browser window. To combine them, I think you would need to unregister the dockstar at the seagate subdomain before adding it to regular pogoplug account.

Actually, I'm accessing the drive connected to my "PinkPlug" with the desktop software right now (yep, drive letter P: )...it's at home, and I'm at my office behind a university firewall.

And when I'm at home, I can use the desktop app for drive letter access to my Seagate Dockstar (w PogoPlug) here in my university office.

I just can't have access to both at the same time (for instance, each assigned a separate drive letter).

I must log out of the desktop app and re-login with credentials for the other device to switch drive letter access.

I learned something new. I thought the desktop app only worked on the LAN. I'll have to install that at work this week now.

I have both pogoplug devices in my same account, so I see a drive letter for the drive attached to each one. I have one drive on my dockstar near my computer which is drive W, and two drives on my pogoplug which is downstairs which show drives X and Y. All three drives appear in windows explorer or powerdesk and I can drag and drop between any of them. I think if you move your dockstar to your my.pogoplug account under a single login you'll see them consolidated.

Well I learned something from you too...
Since the activation of the Dockstar is done at a different URL, and have been accessed differently
my.pogoplug.com
versus
dockstar.pogoplug.com
..I assumed that they had to be different accounts (I used two different e-mail addresses when registering)

All I had to do was add my Dockstar registration e-mail into the Pogoplug web interface as an additional e-mail address....

Now I can see both together.
I'm running in non-multidrive mode...so all of the attached drives on both devices show up as folders under P:
I do it this way to keep a consistent drive letter for my backup software.

This is great! (and Pogoplug tech support said it was impossible to have both simultaneously).

I am using the Pogoplug Pro at home and a Dockstar at work. I used the same email address/password to register both devices, and they both show up on my local computer as a local drive, when running the Pogoplug Drive software. It works great!
