I have exactly the same problem so I'm not able to use the Active Copy functionality.
After going into Preferences/Active Copy I see the default folders but the note "Destination is not available". When I click "change location" the entire window goes gray and nothing happens. The only way to move on is to exit the program and restart. I tried setting up a new folder. I am able to select a folder on my HD but get the same "Destination is not available". Selecting "change location" has same grayed screen result.
Any suggestions?
Same here. Used to work. Swapped out drives at year end and I suspect there have been several iterations of the PogoPlug software since I set up the earlier drive last year.
I have exactly the same issue, haven't been able to get this working since I bought the device last month. Bit annoying.
I'm having this same problem, on my Windows Vista laptop, but NOT on the Windows XP laptop.
Anyone receive any assistance with it?
Same here- new Pogoplug user running Windows 7 64 bit. Hoping to run active copy to keep my music folder synced with the popoplug drive.
Ok, I found another thread which suggested IE9 was the issue. The desktop client uses a web form/page for its functionality. After uninstalling IE9 and reverting to IE8 this is now resolved for me.
Hi
I figured out how to fix this issue on my PC (Win 7 64 bits)
Close Pogoplug drive completely (i.e. right click Exit)
Start Regedit
go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Pogoplug\ppfs
Right click on "ppfs" and select Rename to "ppfs_OLD" (basically get rid of it!)
restart Pogoplug drive.
The app should restart just like the first time you installed it.
FYI: In my case, I think I had click on "Skip this step" once I was asked to setup my Active Copy (and somehow the software was jammed in the endless loop of the grey screen after that). Flushing the registry allowed me to setup the Active Copy correctly and it now works
Are you using IE9 though? I wrote to pogoplug, but I thiunk they got my questions confused with their new "turn my whole pc to a pogo plug" beta, where I have a second gen Pogoplug.....

When using the Pogo plug software to setup active copies, the screen greys out when trying to select a location with internet explorer 9 installed. Is their an eta for when a new version of the software, or a beta version that is compatible with IE9.
Thank you,
Doug

Trotte's solution worked perfectly for me. After disabling ppfs in REGEDIT I restarted and did not skip the step to set up Active Copy this time. I'm copying files to my Pogoplug Drive as I write this.
I am using IE9. I updated to a new version this week so can't comment if the previous version was the problem or not.
