The pogoplug icon on my menu bar has an exclamation point on it.  It was never there and I have no idea what it means.

Any ideas?

Thank you

John

I have the same thing happening. When I check within the menu, I see a new option for "Get Upgrade!". Unfortunately, after I select it, I'm taken to the Pogoplug web site with no further direction on what to do. Hopefully, we'll get an answer here.

We are in the process of rolling out updated versions of the Pogoplug desktop app. Sorry for the early notification, the updated installs should be up soon. Thank you for your patience.

Is there anything new in the updated software or is it just bug fixes?

I cant see a thing different other than maybe a little bit faster....but other than that I dont really see anything different. I havent really had a chance to play with it much yet to see if there is anything different.

Windows appears to download the upgrade file in the background automatically so that it's run as soon as you right-click the Pogoplug icon in the system tray and choose "Upgrade".

The Mac PP software, on the other hand, opens a browser window taking you to the download page on pogoplug.com when you try to upgrade.

I jumped from 2.1.2 to 2.5.5 on Windows thanks to the auto-downloaded upgrade, and as soon as the Pogoplug folks update their site, I suspect that I'll be able to download 2.5.5 for Mac.

I don't know wether or not the guys at PP reads this, but I think you should implement the Sparkle framework in your mac app. It's basically the standard autoupdater framework for the mac. http://sparkle.andymatuschak.org/

Thank you to all who posted replies.  Looks like there is an update and I just have to wait.

This is a great suggestion too,
