The DriveApp requires calling to our servers to verify username and hash password. If you are on the same subnet as the Pogoplug, then after login all file content transfers happen over LAN only. However, this was implemented for acceleration purposes. The DriveApp expects to have internet access and we don't officially support DriveApp usage without it. There *might* be a few situations that the Pogoplug itself does not currently have API implementation for; therefore requiring the DriveApp to ask our servers.
