So now I have multi-drive support and GUID HFS+ Journaled working with my 2.5.7 firmware, I just tried to upload a small file to my Pogoplug Pro, and the uploader freezes after I press the upload button.  Waited 10 minutes, no luck.  Tried Safari and Firefox, no luck.  I've uploaded before so I know it can work, and I can happily browse the folders on the drive and download files, so I know it's there.  Also tried the email upload, and after 30 minutes or so, that hasn't worked either.  I'm at work so rebooting is not an option right now.  Working remote is one of the key benefits of this product, right?

I've logged a ticket with support, but this product is buggy beyond a joke.  I've got a DNS-323 NAS at home which has been running without a reboot for at least 9 months.  The best I've got from my 'personal cloud' is 3 days.  Is the pink version more reliable?  I like the Pogoplug concept well enough that I'd switch to a pink one if it's more reliable.

Hello,

There is a known issue with the Flash Uploader on the WebApp. If it doesn't work for you, please try using the DriveApp. You can also disable flash in your web-browser temporarily then login to the webapp. You'll be presented with the original HTML uploader.

The email upload should work within 30mins, assuming the attatchment isn't abnormally large. For example, I believe Gmail only allows up to 25MB for an attachment. Please ensure the directory for the email destination exists and is available for the time you expect the file to be sent to the Pogoplug.

Thanks,

The only limit to the Pogoplug is your imagination... and C skills... and linux skills. ^_^ h\t\tp://download.pogoplug.com/opensource/pogoplug-gcc.tar.bz2

Disabling Flash brings up the html uploader, but it still doesn't upload. I tried a 400KB file (which was the one I emailed - and the destination folder is present and correct) and a 15MB file with no luck. I get the progress window showing up but it disappears almost immediately.

The Driveapp is the desktop app right?, and not usable remotely unless I'm missing something? In any case it's largely unusable even when I'm on my home network as I get a host of permissions errors when using it (Mac OS X), probably due to MacFUSE being buggy in its own right. And yes, I have run the 'repair permissions' utility on the drive.

These issues are not common. Hopefully in the support ticket we can figure out what is different about your setup compared to others.

I tried uploading from my home network, with and without the flash uploader, no luck. So I unmounted the drive and mounted it on my Mac, ran disk utility to check it, and it came back with loads of errors. Tried repairing it but it was unrepairable. Let's be clear - the Pogoplug caused whatever errors were on the drive, it was fine when I hooked it up to the Pogoplug. I also tried connecting a drive with a GUID partition to the Pogoplug (after I rebooted it), and the drive wouldn't mount, despite the alleged 2.5.7 GUID fix.

I've unplugged the Pogoplug, it's going back to Best Buy tomorrow. This is undoubtedly the buggiest product I've ever had the misfortune to buy. I wanted to like it but it needs to work reasonably reliably. Maybe in 6 months if the company survives, and with some decent QA releases behind it, I'll check back. But until then it's bye-bye.
