I am having some issues with the Hard Drive I am using (WD 500gb) external) that seems to be running all the time even when not in use, is there a way to remotely power down the usb connector? It is Mac formated with two partitions one of which shows up on Finder and the other on the Web browser but not on both... Weird and inconvenient. 

MacBook Pro Os x 10.5

Windows XP

Router: Gateway 2Wire
