I just set up a brand new Pogoplug. I been trying to use the Pogoplug to allow friends to download an entire file folder that has about 500 photos in it.

They are telling me that there does not seem to be a feature (at the recipient's end) to download the entire folder all in one go OR to, let's say, select 150 of the 500 photos and download the batch together.  Seems like you have to pick and download each file separate.

Seems like quite a chore. Am I missing something here? Seems like a very simple and basic feature that such a device/software should have?

Hello,

A user should be able to download a folder(a zip file will result).

For choosing arbitrary files within a folder, installing the Pogoplug DriveApp allows a share to show up like a folder on the PC the user is on, then they can copy anything they want.

Thanks,

The only limit to the Pogoplug is your imagination... and C skills... and linux skills. ^_^ h\t\tp://download.pogoplug.com/opensource/pogoplug-gcc.tar.bz2

I submitted my question to Pogoplug tech support and here is the response I got from "AdamC" at Pogoplug:

AdamC, Nov 05 02:09 pm (PDT):

Hi Ken

If you'd like the shared user to be able to download an entire folder ('folderA' for example) of photos, you can place folderA within another folderB and share folderB. Once they access folderB, there will be a download button on folderA.

Currently there is no way to selectively download a portion of the photos within a folder (like 200 of the 500). I'll pass this feature request along to our development team.

Yes please add these select all/multiselect features so we do not become
pogoplug haters!
