I have had that happen a couple of times and just restarted the video and it worked fine. I didn't need to turn anything off and on.
I thought it was the video itself or maybe my Vulkano unit.
I am going to try the same videos through another server and see if it does the same. That way I can eliminate the Pogoplug to see if it was the problem or something else was.
Do you have another device you can try streaming from to make sure it is a Pogoplug problem and not something else?

Hi,
i posted on this forum because the Pogoplug support couldn't help me, they close my request because the local streaming is currently only support streaming to the following media servers: PS3, xBox360, and Seagate FreeAgent Theatre +.
So if anybody have the same trouble than me, it'll hopeful to share your experience.
I used pogoplug as a home media-server to stream my video from my pogoplug to my TV Upnp/DLNa Bridge (Netbox 8160 Netgem).
The trouble is that it is impossible to watch a complete video without streaming server interruption.
The stream pogpoplug server "shut down" around 20-40min, to reactive it. I have to go media settings, select :"Stream photos, videos and music to your PS3, XBox360 and FreeAgent Theater+" -> disable -> Apply
and
"Stream photos, videos and music to your PS3, XBox360 and FreeAgent Theater+" -> enable -> Apply.
After this, the stream sever is working; it is not friendly...
I have check what happen to help you to solve this trouble,
when the stream server stop:
- The LAN traffic is OK -> the pogopolug is still visible on my PC (i used pogoplug drive) -> so network is OK (connected 1Gbits Ethernet link)
- The stream server is not visible also on my PC (Windows Media Connect), so that mean that the trouble is not on my hardware.
Do you know this trouble ?

I think we're going to need to put in a support ticket. I have the same issue except that it is with a D-Link DSM-520 Network Media Player.
Bottom Line Discussion: Our media players send out an 'are you there' request to the Pogoplug. The Pogoplug needs to answer back to the media player or be disconnected.
Technical Discussion: Apparently (if I understand it correctly) SSDP packets are sent to the device serving the media at random (in this case, the Pogoplug). The Pogoplug needs to send back some sort of reply so that our devices are happy or it will disconnect. I believe that it is part of the UPnP standard.
Jerry you might be right. I tried again today and had the same issue as before.
Please put in a request to support on it. I can't because I am using a beta media player and I wouldn't expect them to have to support or work with it.
I believe I have a similar problem and had really high hopes. The video streaming stops about 20-30 minutes in. I cannot see the pogoplug and then a few minutes later I can see it. I can restart the movie.
I put in a trouble ticket. The final resolution was that they are not sure why it drops and they dont support the medi player I'm using. The ticket was closed. No more explination.
I'm a little dissapointed.
All of my connections are wired lan connections.
I have the following setup:
WDTV live plus media player
WGR614 wireles modem with 4 port lan connections
Pogoplug Pro
Western Digital 2TB hard drive.
Im really just interested in streaming over the network, not the internet.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?
Is there a good source that explains how a media server works?
Thanks
Mike
I'm not sure if the WDTV works similar to the D-Link DSM-520. I did stumble on to this.

If this is a standard method of communication between media player and media server then we may have the same issue and the PogoPlug suspect. I also put in a ticket but have not heard anything as of yet.
Here's what the link states that I just posted (which ignores all the other noise in the post)
If it is 30 minutes, it is definitely the issue of media server. DSM520 will "remove" the server if the server does not send any SSDP message to keep it in the UPnP network. Some media server really miss it!!!
DSM520 will send SSDP M-SEARCH message every 5 seconds. Some media server will may have issue for this.
I'm having exactly the same problem, Pogoplug is constantly disabling the streaming option. I have to log back in again and again to click the same option. Amazingly frustrating, as the main reason I bought this was for local streaming and networking.
Is there a fix for this yet?
Taro-
Your issue is slightly different than ours. Our issue is that when we're watching a video our media boxes report that we've disconnected from the server after 30 minutes.
This is not related to the option on the web page to enable media sharing under the Media Settings.
Any new news on this issue?
I am having the same issue with a WDTV Live and my pogo plug.
I have a WDTV and I have the same problem. At approx 30 min, it loses the connection to the pogoplug. I usually go to the settings in WDTV and check connection under Network Setting (everything is fine) I then return to the movie and I am able to resume the movie. By the talk here, I assume that if I wait a few minutes the pogoplug will be found again and I don't have to go to settings. It sounds like it should be a reasonable fix to add SSDP to the UPnP.
I seem to have fixed the 30 min disconnect issue with my pogoplug and wdtv. WDTV would disconnect to any media server that I had at the 30 min mark. With a little research, I isolated my dlink router behind another routers firewall and connected my Pogoplug, PS3 and WDTV to the router. Once I disabled the SPI under the firewall and reduced the filtering of the UDP and TCP to Endpoint Independent then the 30 minute issue disappeared. I use www.grc.com to test my security and all is good. My first router is protecting my second dlink router.
After the problem started to appear again, I did some more research and the problem seems to lie in the network setting of the WDTV. It seems that the workgroup:WORKGROUP setting causes the WDTV to search for other members of the same workgroup. When it fails to find anyone in the workgroup, it cuts off playback from the pogoplug. I am using WDLXTV and with the online settings, I made the workgroup setting blank. It appears to be working so far. No interuptions in 3 movies so far.
