@blodwyn, unfortunately there is a bug right now that prevents drives with GUID partition tables (the default for drives formatted on Mac) from being recognized on the Pogoplug Pro. Engineering has identified a fix and we are working hard to get it out to you guys as soon as we can.
Note, this is not an issue with the pink Pogoplugs.
I just bought a brand new Pogoplug Pro today, hooked up and tried several drives. Couldn't see any of them from the web page or from the Mac desktop (2 month old Mac Mini). Tried the desktop app uninstaller and reinstalled, no luck. So I tried formatting one of the drives to FAT32, and it showed up OK. I thought this product was supposed to support HFS+ Jounalled - it says so on the web site.
Nicky Pogo, when are the Pogoplug Pro U-Boot and Linux kernel sources going to be put up?
So is this why my external HDD, which is formatted for a Mac wont show up? Also, my Pogoplug Pro does not show my network or in wireless settings? I am using a basic modem with a D-LINK DIR 825 DUAL BAND ROUTER, which my pogoplug pro is plugged into the router. Can you help me with the settings within the router so that my Pogoplug Pro will recognize my network?

Everyone,
The issue with GUID formatted drives has been fixed. We also improved the handling of wireless connections.
As long as your Pogoplug Pros are and have been online, they should be updated to firmware 2.5.7, which includes these fixes. You can verify that your device has updated by going to Settings -> General Settings in the Web UI; next to where your Pogoplug Pro name is listed, you should see printed "Device 2.5.7".
Note: This firmware update is only for Pogoplug Pro devices. Pink Pogoplugs and Pogoplug Biz devices will not have 2.5.7, and this is to be expected

Any new dates for the release of the Pogoplug Pro, Biz, and v2 U-Boot and kernel sources?
So I updated the firmware for my Pogoplug pro and am still having the same issue of it not recognizing any Mac external hdds. Did this update fix this issue for anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?
I just tried a GUID drive on my 2.5.7 Pogoplug Pro, and it doesn't work. With this and the fact that it corrupted my 2TB Seagate drive badly enough that Disk Utility couldn't repair it, it's going back to Best Buy tomorrow. Total waste of 8 days.
I jus got a pink pogoplug, still my mac hd does not showup. Plug and play? Forget it.
Any help?
Another drive windows formatted works ok.
I am considering sending the pogoplug back, it does not deliver what is promised, I do not have the time to wait for a timeconsuming solution.
It is NOT fixed for pink Pogo's. I am new to this forum, and I have been trying to set up my external MAC harddisk without result. Very frustating. If this is plug and play?!@##$$
I have a Drobo formated with 16TB HFS+. I got the black Pogoplug the first day it came out. It's my first purchase, and I was told by support this works fine with Drobo. I've waited some 20+ days for this advertised feature to work, and the update has done absolutely nothing for me as well.
At this point, I'm giving up. I'm returning it.
It was a cool idea if actually worked.
I see I'm updated to 2.5.7 on my Mac and Pogoplug Pro, but still not seeing my drive. Anxious for a solution for my new purchase here!!
So after the pogoplug pro was updated to the new firmware I took another external and formatted that one(GUID) and that one reads fine however my original GUID drive is still not recognized. I thought about plugging in the old drive into the mac and then transferring everything to the new drive via the pogoplug and then formatting the old drive and hooking both drives up to the pogoplug but then I thought about the transfer speeds from usb to the mac and then to the pogoplug via the network so I decided against it. In the end I returned everything and will research an alternate solution. Somewhere during all of this my original drive was corrupted as mentioned above, however I was lucky as Disc Utility was able to repair it.
The pogoplug would probably work great on a PC but these GUID issues should of been corrected before release not several weeks after, and even then the fix is not 100%.
On a positive note Nicky Pogo did PM me and offer to try to help me with my issue so thanks to him.

I returned my PPPro yesterday as well. I did some research on the Dockstar and the GoFlex Net. Seemed to me that most of the negative comments were not about bugs, but about having to use the PogoPlug service and maybe having to pay for it (not true any more). So I took the plunge and bought a GoFlex Net at Best Buy (got to love the 15 days return policy). Not a bad device, the two slots at the top have standard SATA connectors so any 'naked' 2.5" drive fits just fine.
So I plugged it in and went through the activation OK, picked up the fact that I already had an account. I tentatively connected a GUID hard drive, and it mounted! Wooohoo! So I connected a second drive, and that mounted as well! I did some transfers both ways from the web app, no problems, and also by mounting the drives as network shares in Finder (much better than having to use MacFUSE with the DriveApp). Looks like overnight a firmware update was pushed out, but I'm happy to report I can still download and upload files from my work location.
Now I'm by no means ready to give a recommendation, but the 16 hours runtime I've got without any hitches handily surpasses anything I managed to get out of the PPPro. If you're going to research alternatives, then I'd be interested in your conclusions, but at least for now I have a working situation with a Pogoplug-oriented device. Fingers crossed.
Just bought the Pogoplug Pro today. Got home and plugged my WD HFS+ Journaled formatted 1TB external HDs into the Pogoplug Pro to get a result of nothing! I checked the firmware on the device which is 2.5.7, which from this forums comments should be able to access the drives without me having to reformat the drives, which would require me to move the contents of these drives off it and back on to my main HD, requiring many hours as USB 2.0 is slooowww! Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

For the pro, make sure that HFS support is loaded. You can manually load the HFS kernel module by typing "/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.6.31.6_SMP_820/kernel/fs/hfsplus/hfsplus.ko" using ssh access. If it is already loaded, you will get "insmod: can't insert '/lib/modules/2.6.31.6_SMP_820/kernel/fs/hfsplus/hfsplus.ko': File exists" which is ok. Make sure the the device is updated to 2.5.9. When you first get your PogoPro, the usb is sometimes intermittent and the drive sometimes can't be loaded, even manually with "mount /dev/sda1 /tmp/.cemnt/mount_sda1" (even tried sdb1, sdc1, sdd1). I ended up with a corrupt drive which I had to use disk utility to fix the drive. When the system is updated it works fine with only a few intermittent glitches. I now switched to ext2 and only glitch when I reboot (but not on every reboot, just rarely).

Update
It looks like the issue is with volumes formatted with GUID partition maps. When I formatted a drive with the old Apple Partition Map format, the drive mounted OK. Looks like it may have been fixed in 2.5.6 released 2 weeks ago so this is obviously old news, but I couldn't find it anywhere.
