Hey,
I have the same network error message (80710723) after 2'11" for music.
Still video streaming is back and that's great !
Categories: Pogoplug Classic
When streaming music (mp3 and AAC) to the PS3 playback stops every time after precisely 2m.11s with PS3 network error 80710723. I can stream video (mp4 and avi) and pictures (jpg) to my PS3 without problems.
I can stream music, video and pictures without problems to PC's running Windows 7 and XP and Linux Mint.
I've always had this fault since I first installed pogoplug on my network therefore it isn't related to the firmware updates to 2.5.3 and 2.5.6.
I'd appreciate any suggestions you have towards resolution of this intractable problem.

@willieboy and Trantkat, we have tried various things and cannot reproduce this on our end. However, we will continue to look into it.
So I'm not alone after all! Nickey Pogo glad you are trying to assist, thanks.
Edit: Just for the record the full explanation of my problem streaming to PS3 is here;

Hey guys, we have tried a bunch of things here, and still cannot reproduce this problem. A bit of research suggests that 80710723 errors are due to PS3 firmware being in a weird state after a PS3 firmware update, so you might want to start looking at things from that perspective. Do you see this error returned in any other scenario with your PS3s?
I can stream the exact same music files with no issues from a windows 7 laptop to the same PS3 over the same network using the windows 7 media sharing feature. however from the pogoplug they all fail at 2 mins 10 seconds every single time.
another thing I noticed, when pogoplug is serving the files and I am navigating the files on the PS3, all the filenames have an asterisk next to them in the PS3 UI, however there is no asterisk when navigating the same files served from the win7 laptop.
http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connectdlna.html
"File names for data that is stored on servers that are not compliant with DLNA may have an asterisk appended to the file name. In some cases, these files cannot be played on the PS3 system. Also, even if the files can be played on the PS3 system, it might not be possible to play the files on other devices."
I can confirm the same thing with my pogoplug and ps3 got a party tonight was planning on streaming on shuffle 2500 tracks aagghhh
Hello,
I have the same problem with my PS3, I can not tell if it came after the update of the firm on the PS3 or the firm Pogoplug as I struggled to find playing media stored on the Pogoplug on my PS3 after update 2.5.6 of the firm
Can not play music files, cons by the photos and videos no problem appears. (I have videos that stop shortly after the reading, but I think it is because of encoding)
Do you still have this problem? if not how did you solve?
Thank you in advance
Hello,
Do you still have this problem? if not how did you solve?
Thank you in advance
I have installed Plugbox linux on the same box, enabled minidlna and it works perfectly.
Hello,
I revived the thread because I'm still stuck with reading my files on the PS3, I tried unsuccessfully to reset everything PGOPLUG, Router, PS3 but still the same worries.
If someone could help me because this time I despair and frustration of not being able to listen to such music network (POGO> PS3)
Thank you very much in advance for your help
I do not know if my messages are clear because I'm writing in French and do the translation by GOOGLE
I have this exact problem with a new GoFlex Net device. MP3s stop playing at 2:11 every time. Very frustrating. Videos appear to play fine.
Songs play in their entirety on my xBox.
Update: Putting the PS3 in the DMZ did not fix this.
hello
I think I'll abandon the Pogoplug, too bad I liked the concept. I have no answer or found a solve this problem, Pogoplug not brought me any help (my last post was even dropped while I was saying there's nothing wrong).
Too bad, I'll give a road a true NAS synologi that works very well on the PS3 and other media devices. I'll buy another (or 710 + 211 +) because the previous one got dropped from my purchase or Pogoplug.
Currently I am unable to listen to music on the PS3 and would love to find a solution.
If anyone has an idea or info I still taker
Thank you in advance
errant et al,
We can now reproduce this in house. The problem is a compatibility issue between Pogoplug and version 3.55 of the PS3 firmware that did not exist in version 3.50. Engineering has been made aware of this problem and is investigating. Thanks to everyone for your patience and information regarding this issue. We're working on it!

Good morning / night
Thank you very much for that, I began to despair of finding my Pogoplug 100% functional. I do not know if this is related to the SHIFT 3.55 because this is a moment that this problem occurred, I think just by switching to 3.5 but I am no longer sure. I did not notice what was the N) of the firm at that time or became the problem with the PS3.
I thought it was a shame to lose access to my music to the extent it worked with viewing photos or videos. And very good for the shared use and internet consultation.
Thank you for giving this news, so we'll wait a little longer.
Hello,
Still no solution to the problems encountered to date despite the announcement of a solution during the post above by the staf Pogoplug. My PS3 is still blocking the playback of MP3 files. I noticed that some files uploaded recently cons posed no problems but overall there are very few that do not block.
On the other hand is new since noon, my Pogoplug suddenly became orange and loss of connection. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, the light turned green for a while and then again became orange. ^ new manip after the light went out again before flashing green and fast green, and since it is fast flashing green not find my connection and have it fixed in green.
If I disconnect and reconnect it turns green then goes off again and then remains orange and green flashing becomes rapid
Pogoplug Would there be a concern? failure?
Thank you in advance for your help
I too am having this same problem with my PS3. It seems to be on random tracks, not specifically MP3's or AAC files either. There are a few tracks that work all the time, every time I play them and some that never get past 2:11. I have one folder of music that all the tracks work (both AAC and MP3) all the time.
I am at a loss, I like my PogoPlug for everything else it can do but this is one of the primary reasons I purchased it. I'd really like it to work :)
Thanks in advance.
Double post. Oops. I'll update here if anything changed on my end ...

Nicky Pogo: I am pleased that your team agree that there is a problem streaming music to the PS3.
However, according to the PS3 website software archive version 3.50 was released on 21 September 2010 and version 3.55 was released on 7 December 2010. Therefore at the time of my original post in October 2010 when I purchased my pogoplug and discovered this malfunction PS3 version 3.50 was operating.
I would still very much like to have a solution to this problem. Because of this problem I don't make much use of my pogoplug ....

I have been playing around with this for some time on my PS3 and I think I have found a solution of sorts. For me the problem arises consistently when I create a folder on the Pogoplug and then drop songs into it. The network error comes up like clockwork.
What I found out was that when I drag a whole folder of music off a PC onto the Pogoplug, it plays every song in the folder perfectly. I've tried it with MP3 and AAC and it works just fine using both codec's. Not sure if it's just my stuff playing nice finally but if anyone wants to try it out on theirs as well and report back that would be great.
My PS3's been playing everything for about a week now without a single drop since I started creating folders on the PC and dragging the whole folder onto my Pogoplug. When I drop a single new song into any of the folders, however, it does start throwing errors again ... quite perplexing.
Hello,
Thank you for this interesting return, I noticed also that since the last Update Pogoplug some files were played without problems and others are blocked after 2 minutes.
So I will test this procedure just drag files from PC to Pogoplug.
As I understand it works but if we add the file Pogoplug no longer works?
I can not test for now I'm trying to redesign the hardware and install a Home Cinema and everything is removed.
Whenever I can I would test again.
But as the saying willieboy problems dates before the PS3 Update 3.5. Me everything was working until the last of Pogoplug SHIFT, and that's where it all started, I do not know if AJ has done for the PS3 but worse since it became very painful and I practically never used the Pogoplug for music. I will revive a Synology NAS, damage.

I have PS3 firmware version 3.60 and pogoplug firmware v 2.5.7 (UI and Service v 3.0.0) and music files, both mp3 and AAC, still fail everytime at 2m 11s with the same network error.
I haven't tried the alternative folder copy approach suggested and may do so if time permits.
