Hi,

Very simple question. Doesn't it supposed to reject (or Not Allowing) any changes to files in the USB storage device attached to Docking Station if I put into "Read-Only" mode in WFS Setting?

Somehow, (Or I maybe wrong) I was able to change (modify & delete) the files in network attached USB storage.

Please let me know if there is a way to protect the files in attached storage.

Thank you.

Brandon.

Since your post is in the "Pogoplug Drive for Windows" forum I assume you mean you are making these changes using the Pogoplug drive app?

If so then you are not using the WFS, Samba, shared drive but the Pogoplug drive app.
These two are completely different.

The Drive app will allow you, as the registered administrator, to change anything. The WFS, Samba share is different.

Can you clarify where, what and how logged in, you were using to make these changes

I logged into "mypogoplug.com" and changed the setting of WFS to "Read-Only".

Then, I changed files around using my windows and used Drive App to Active Copy.

I guess it doesn't work like that.

If this is the case, is there anyway to protect the files in the External Hard Drive while sharing or active copy?

I have 3 users sharing one External Hard Drive using Media Sharing Doc Station and GoFlex Portable Drive. But, I don't want to give the users the ability of changing files from their computer over network or internet.

Any solutions?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Regards,

Brandon.
