I can upload large (bigger than 2GB) files to my pogoplug using the PlugDrive software under Windows 7, but for some reason if I try to do it through the website it stalls at about 64kb.

Smaller files transfer with no problems at all. One reason why I want to use a browser is speed.. I find the browser uploads many times faster than the "drive" uploads.

I've tried IE 8, Chrome, Safari.

Anyone have any pointers?

I'm a little puzzled perhaps I've misunderstood your situation ...

If you access your pogoplug from the home network where the pogoplug is connected data transfers will be at up to Gigabit speeds. (whether web app or desk drive app is used)

If you access your pogoplug remotely, eg from your work, then the transfer speed depends on the speed of the internet connection. Bearing in mind that the ISP upload is usually much slower than the download speed this is considerably slower than when on the home network!

My mistake, I should have been clearer...

Both pogoplug and computer (Windows 7) are connected to the same router - which only has 100Mb ports, so I'm not expecting miracles.

Tried it just now so I could get some concrete figures for you and its all fine! My ethernet connection is maxed out, just like I want it to be.

When I tried it the other day the Explorer/"drive" mechanism was substantially slower than using the browser to upload even on the same network.

Ah well, please ignore me on this.... I dont need a browser that can upload more than 2GB since I will always be able to use the "drive" instead.

I don't have any information on your inability to upload large (bigger than 2GB) files. Perhaps another forum member will be able to give you advice.

Further to my earlier answer, if you enable "use full security sessions" by ticking the checkbox at my.pogoplug.com => settings =>security settings - all data transfers will be encrypted and will be via the internet and pogoplug servers.
