It sounds like some functionality was lost with recent firmware updates but I am a new owner. Anyway I think my PP is stable now after a rocky start. I wanted to watch some videos that are in MKV format but my xbox360 won't read them directly. I usually use media center extender mode to watch formats that are not natively supported. So I install the PP app on my media center machine and have tried to point windows media center at the drive to index but I get crashes or just nothing as it doesn't index. Within media center I can't even view subfolders of the PP drive letter so I just select the whole thing but it doesn't appear to be reading it. Is anyone else using media center and the pogoplug successfully? And if so what are your suggestions? I know samba would probably solve this and honestly I don't know its not available as this box has so much potential or so it seemed.

I'm using openpogo with samba configured

I have PS3mediaserver running on my laptop, which sees the pogo samba shares, and from there streams to my PS3.

Allegedly, PS3mediaserver also streams to Xbox360, but I haven't tried that.

Hrm thanks for the reply, I'd like to keep the simplicity of "access anywhere" that the PP offers but I may have to consider going openpogo.

Yes, PS3mediaserver CAN stream to the Xbox360. I used it before I started using my Dockstar, and am currently using it while waiting for the firmware fix.

So are both of you running open pogo then? As it stands I dont see any other way to get windows media center to see my data.

I am not using OpenPogo, just the stock firmware.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Windows Media Center and don't know if I can help you with that. I'm running XP with PS3MS in place of WMC. PS3MS is able to locate the drives attached to my Dockstar without requiring open pogo.

Oh really? I thought you would have needed samba running for PS3mediaserver to see anything.

I need to run openpogo for other reasons anyway. (I run sabnzbd on the pp and use it as my primary d/l box)

And you can still use my.pogoplug.com with openpogo. (not that I use it very much, my upload speed is shocking)
