If you're new to Pogoplug, you should be excited to know that you can remotely print documents from printers connected to your Pogoplug device or on the same network as your Pogoplug.  That is, if you love to print!  (For more information on the cloud printing features of Pogoplug, click here.)

As of the posting of this thread, most HP and Epson printer models released post-2005 should be compatible with the Pogoplug, but we'd like to know what specific model you are using, and the experiences you are having.

So - check out that little sticker on the back of your printer or your installed drivers and tell us what printer you are using with your Pogoplug, and how it's working for you!

I'll kick this one off. I don't have a compatible printer (it's a Canon) but I tested the feature on an HP Photosmart C309a and it worked perfectly, first time, no hassle.

I have a HP Photosmart D7160 which doesn't seem to work with PogoPlug. I haven't tried swapping out USB cables yet (although I doubt that's the problem). I'll troubleshoot some more but I don't think there's much else I can do.

I have a HP LaserJet p1005 which doesn't work with pogo plug. I have tried everything but can't get it to work. I also have a HP DeskJet 2480 which works perfectly as far as the printing is concerned.

Okay...odd, the power went out and when it came back on both pogoplug and the printer started up and pogoplug now recognizes it.  I'm not sure what happened there but everything seems fine now.

My Epson Stylus Photo PX710W seems to work well. It is attached wirelessly to my home network.

I have a Brother HL-3070CW that shows up on my pogoplug account page as connected. The documents are listed in the tab as "waiting to print"...believe my printer is not compatible as the documents are simply in limbo...

Brother MFC-255CW is not compatible.

I would like to buy a Pogoplug, but first I need to know if my Hp Deskject 5550 is supported! Is it supported? I really need the print share feature!

Thanks!

How long before Canon Printers are supported? There's plenty of us patiently waiting.

I can attest to the fact that my networked HP L7680 Inkjet Printer is being detected by my pogoplug and it is working fine by sending attachments to print@mypogoplug.com. Note the printer is connected via an Ethernet cable to my local network; I do not use a direct connection to the pogoplug via a USB cable.

My HP Laserjet 1012 doesn't work, much to my disappointment.

Hi,

I have find on pogoplug website the list of:

Pogoplug Compatibility List: Printers

see below,

http://support.pogoplug.com/forums/237416-printing-from-your-pogoplug

Do you if it is plan to include other printers from another customer like per example: Samsung ?

Thanks

Hi there,

My Canon Pixma 4300 is not supported by Pogoplug. There is not even an Canon printer-compatabilitylist.

My HP Deskjet 845cxi is also not supported. Too bad.

Now, if i want to print by the Pogoplug i have to buy a compatable printer?

Best regards,

Henk

Why does it take so long to get other manufacturers printer support?

Hi there, I have an Epson Stylus CX3200. The pogoplug recognized the printer as Epson, but when i mailed a file to the pogoplug it doesn't print a thing. The file is visible, but nothing more.

HP 4780 Prints from PP, Ipad and Iphone

It will print from Ipad,Iphone either thru the PP app or by emailing to print@mypugoplug.com

November 11, 2010 8:47 AM

If I connect my printer to the pogoplug usb, how can I share it so that I can use file->print in my applications? Currently I can only send the file to the printer by sending an e-mail...Not really a print server as such then...

Is there already support for PCL and/or Postscript printers?

November 11, 2010 10:50 AM

I have to say I'm overall dissapointed with Cloudengines regarding remote printing (among other things I'll mention in another post). You roll out this great feature, but then only support 2 of the major printer manufacturers. I understand that HP and Epson are easier for you guys to make this work, but releasing this feature and touting it to all is a poor way to run your business. That's like saying we have this amazing new car we'd like to sell you, it gets a 100 miles to the gallon and only costs 10$, but it only runs on a special fuel that only 10 people in the entire U.S. have access to. Don't you think that logic is kind of stupid? If you have a feature that can't support enough of the major brands, then DON"T RELEASE IT! Plain and simple. You should at least support the following brands: HP, Cannon, Lexmark, Epson and Brother. If you go to any major retailer (online or brick and mortar) you will find them advertising these brands. I can understand a delay in support for brands that are a little more obscure. But only HP and Epson. That's rediculous.

end of rant.

Thanks.
