Login to your account on my.pogoplug.com

Wait for your folders to appear.

To delete folder you must hover your mouse over the folder to delete, then a garbage can should appear to the right, click on the garbage can to delete.

You can also right click your mouse on the folder you want to delete, then select the garbage can to delete.

To create a new folder, right click your mouse on the white space below the directory listing above, and click on the Create Folder option that appears.

If the above did not not work for you, connect your usb hard drive to another computer and ensure that none of your folders are protected and that you can delete or create on the usb hard drive. If all works, connect back onto the pogoplug and test.

Hi,
I have:

Windows XP Service Pack3
1T WD Hard Drive with NTFS format
Pogo Plug behind D-Link router
Latest drivers and updates to all above as of October.28.2010

Problem:

In LAN mode my Pogo Plug ignores deleting files from HDD. It will delete file with some lag and after 5sec the file is restore back to original location?
This problem is not occurring if Pogo Plug is in Internet mode.

The use of Pogo Plug as a "LAN server" is crucial, Internet option is secondary.

Thank You for Help.

It sounds like your are trying to delete a file from the Search Library at the top of the MyPogoPlug:View page. After deleting a file the search engine will attempt to locate the original file. Which will again appear in the Search Library. You need to delete the original file to have it dissapear from the Library.

To delete the original file from the HDD, be sure to select your HDD drive at the bottom of this page and on the left. Then drill down to where the original file is located. You should be able to delete the file or subdirectories from here. The file should also dissappear from the Library above on this page.

Thank you for reply and help.

I'm removing files via Window-explorer window not via Internet-explorer window. My HDD is in LAN mode not Internet mode.
Actually since last comment I was able after couple attempts to remove some of the unwanted folders. One of them reappears twice and then "puff" disappeared. After direct connection via USB and further examination the folders are gone.

Now I'm facing bigger problem, I accidentally remove folder with important files...and there is no "recycle bin". I have no idea how to recover this data. I'm currently running third free recovery software with no luck so far.

Pogoplug runs a small version of Linux. Linux does not have friendly file recovery tools such as with a Windows computer. You might be able to recover deleted files by connecting your HDD to a Linux workstation computer and running some sort of recovery tool.

Always backup IMPORTANT files on another HDD, and not on the pogoplug HDD.

Make sure to run that recovery tool while your HDD is connected to your computer and not via the PP. What kind of file system does the HDD have?

About my HDD -post from NOV.02.'10
I'm running some recovery with my HDD connected via usb to my PC. I'm using some deep scan recovery tool. It will be about 5 days to finish this scan. So far aftfer 3 days 40% of work is done.

If not i'm going to use Stephen advice about Linux work station hook-up.

Thank you for your time and help.
