After some fiddling around after initially setting up my pogoplug I had it working relatively well with my PS3. I even managed to install samba and had nice little pink magic box in the corner of my living room. The other morning I noticed the shares were down, strange I thought - maybe there was a momentary power cut during the night and pogoplug restarted.
In fact then I tried to connect to the pogoplug from my PS3 and nothing would play. After logging into the pogoplug I noticed a few new messages and at that point it became clear that there had been an upgrade.
The firmware was now at 2.5.3
Any attempt to access files from my PS3 produced "data corrupted" or "unsupported media" or even dnla error messages.
Also the the smb shares have become incredibly slow and some folders show that they contain no files (even though I know that they do). I could see the blue light on my Western Digital My Book drives blinking away - clearly trying to read the files - but something about the the actual pogoplug is seriously ill after this upgrade.
Another symptom is that inside the Media Settings section it shows that files are being "processed" even though in order for it to work on the PS3 I have to tell the pogoplug to "never" process my files.
There is just too much "black box" stuff going on here for my liking - I was willing to ignore it and happy to jump through the slightly bizzare hoops to get my files shared to my PS3 - but this "black box" nature of the pogoplug has now left me with an unsable lump of pink in the corner of my living room.. . .
Is anyone with a PS3 and a Pogoplug running firmware 2.5.3 having a good experience ?Is it only me and maybe a handful of people who are having this bad experience ?
Or can anyone post the firmaware for 2.10 with some hints on how to downgrade ?
