when I have set it to never and it keeps starting on other movies showing the progress even if I set all three fields to NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

never mind it is so deviously hidden this setting, why do you mess with this java or what it is based interface, focus on functionality, not fanciness FGS

And the checkmark to stream to xbox keeps unchecking, I mean WTF is with it

BTW I use IE8 32-bit browser to setup settings for streaming

but that is academic since it won't stream anything out, I tried movies that play fine from USB key directly plugged into xbox and then I plug the same key into your box and it won't play, so I suppose it is beside the point that the checkmark to stream to the xbox keeps unchecking everytime I shutdown my xbox or try play from other sources on it, next time I go to your box, its content can't be accessed and I know by now that it uncheckmarked again for umpteens time, I am not going to use your device for this purpose but write this here so people know what they are getting into.

I only got mine at the weekend - but have EXACTLY the same experience (using Chrome browser on Windows 7 btw). I actually submitted a support request before finding this thread...

Same thing though. Files play fine on XBOX via USB stick. Plug stick into Pogo and tell it NEVER to transcode - and it starts transcoding. Try to play the file on xbox - wont play - stays black for a while then tells me the PC (pogoplug) has disconnected.

Used to have the 1TB drive plugged into a WDTVHD - worked great - but only on the system it was plugged in to; thought Pogo would be an ace solution to sharing the files around the house.

Interesting, thanks for 'support'. :)

Given time it might work with some future firmware updates, in meantime I will just use USB key to move media to the xbox or test some other solutions like TVersity.

As an afterthought I think it keeps transcoding because the 'commands' from the webbrowser don't 'stick' or get to where they should get, likely related to why the checkmark telling the pogoplug to stream media doesn't keep applied.

I have 2.5" drive in USB enclosure and it stopped transcoding a while back when I realized that's not what I want.

But now it doesn't stop and its either because it is USB key we talk about or there was firmware update in the meantime which broke it.

Have the same problem here ... if PogoPlug reboots for whatever reason, starts transcoding despite I set not to transcode. Real pain!!!!
