I had the setting "Use full security sessions" checked...then I read the page

http://pogoplug.com/home-en-support-help-security-encryption.html

that basically said if you're accessing your pogoplug from within your house (and your pogoplug is also in your house) -- this will slow things down because the traffic will actually exit your house, then come back because of the SSL being forced.

My question is: is there a way to force SSL file transfer for those outside your house (basically, clients not attached to the same router as you?

This way, inside my house, I'm not using SSL (I don't need encryption locally anyway) -- but outside my house, say from work - my files are going out via SSL.

Hi Guys,

At this time, full security is either enabled globally or disabled globally, so SSL encryption for all Pogoplugs and shares on your account is treated the same whether the Pogoplugs/shares are local or remote.
