It's normally ok to delete tmp files. Are they all in the same folder?, if so just rename the folder and see if everything is still ok. If so it's ok to delete the folder. If not, just restore the folder to it's old name. If they're in the root, just gather them to a folder and do the same test. Not experienced this myself though.

My WD external hard drive attached to my Pogoplug 2 has more than a thousand tmp files on it. They must have come from the Pogoplug; they are not on my PC's hard drive. Most of the tmp files are 0 bytes in size, but otheres are larger (36kb). The largest is 9,652,206kb (gulp).
Have any of you experienced this epedemic of tmp files? Can I simply erase them?
Thanks
